Epistaxis Disease with Pitta

OVERVIEW: Nosebleeds, also called epistaxis (ep-ih-STAK-sis), involve bleeding from the inside of your nose. Many people have occasional nosebleeds, particularly younger children and older adults. Although nosebleeds may be scary, they're generally only a minor annoyance and aren't dangerous. Frequent nosebleeds are those that occur more than once a week.

CAUSES:

  • Scratching the inside of your nose with a sharp fingernail
  • Forcefully blowing your nose
  • blow to your head, or a fall
  • A minor injury to your nose
  • Presence of cold or flu which causes a blocked or stuffy nose
  • Sinusitis
  • Very dry environments or places that have hot, dry weather
  • Hay fever or other allergies
  • High altitude
  • Abuse of nasal decongestants
  • A crooked nose that's either present from birth or the result of an injury.
  • broken nose
  • Recent nasal surgery
  • Hardened arteries (atherosclerosis)
  • Medicines that cause you to bleed more easily, including aspirin

SYMPTOMS:

  • Excessive blood loss may cause dizziness, light-headedness, confusion, and fainting. However, excessive blood loss from nosebleeds is rare.
  • A disease in which the body is unable to form clots may cause additional bleeding from other parts of the body, such as bleeding gums when brushing teeth, blood in urine or bowel movements, or easy bruising. Additional bleeding or easy bruising can be a sign of a more significant medical problem.

TREATMENT: According to Ayurveda, an imbalance of the Pitta dosha is the main cause of the bleeding of the nose. An increase in the pitta is associated with nose bleeds. The management comprises pacifying the pitta dosha by making some simple changes in aahar and vihar and some herbs. Here we provide some products without any side effects helpful for all initial symptoms
